Mirchi Times Skirt

A low-rise mini skirt inspired by classic newsprint layouts and headline culture. The Mirchi Times Skirt transforms print media into clothing, where hand-embroidery replaces ink and typography + linework becomes ornament.

Black and silver katdana beadwork form columns, borders, and graphic accents across the surface, creating an editorial layout, alongside small motifs and a mirrored panel that references photo blocks, in a nod to traditional South Asian mirrorwork.

The layout embraces imperfection, and visual fragments read like a glittering archive of the band–with The Mirchi Times appearing across the waist in gothic-style threadwork alongside hand-drawn like stars, chilies, and our founding date: EST. 15 August 2024. (Shoutout all our Leo Mirchi girls).

The back of the skirt shifts into  stripped down arrangement of horizontal lines, creating contrast and visual space.
